Talent Check Berlin
Vocational orientation meets talent show
The world of showbusiness is Talent Check Berlin’s underlying theme. It’s all about showcasing your hidden talents!
‘Which career path should I choose? What am I really good at? And which professions are out there?’ Talent Check Berlin addresses these questions. 8th grade students start their vocational orientation here. For the joint project of the the Senate Department for Education, Youth, and Family, the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit), and the IHK Berlin (Chamber of Industry and Commerce), we converted former offices in Berlin’s district Charlottenburg in a talent show format.
The spotlight cone leitmotiv
‘It’s all about you, you are the centre of attention’ – the spotlight cone represents this leitmotiv. Spotlights and flashing lights combined with a modern colour concept of yellow, grey-black and silver run through all areas of the Talent Check and immerse the students in the experience.
Vocational orientation
During their five-hour stay, the young participants first complete the detailed career choice test developed by the Federal Employment Agency in a talent show setting. Then, practical tests await them at the heart of the Talent Check. At these stations, which we developed, the students interactively discover their talents and abilities. Within the framework of a moderated talent show, they compete in four fields with a total of six psychologically measurable test games in 45 minutes. In between, short film portraits of people and their individual career paths illustrate the connection to the professional world.
You’ve got talent! - The ‘TalenTier’ animal
The game results are recorded on a chip card and then evaluated. Since the skills discovered in the practice checks such as dexterity, a good memory and problem-solving abilities can also be attributed to certain animals, we designed ‘TalenTier’ creatures for the test evaluation. At the end of the visit, each student is presented with a personal TalenTier embodying the individual’s two biggest talents.
