Japanese woodcuts

Lyrical landscapes, elegant geishas and dramatic theatre scenes: The precious Japanese woodcuts have been part of the collection of the Städtische Museen Freiburg since 1903 and were re-evaluated and reinterpreted for a special exhibition at the Haus der Graphischen Sammlung. We have planned and designed the exhibition.

Typeface

In the representations of Japanese woodblock prints, writing plays an important role. Often they are part of the free picture composition. On this basis, we have chosen a contemporary typeface that is easy to read with its clear formal language and allows individual keywords to be represented in a decorative typography.
