Professional orientation in show format

The world of shows is the inspiration for the Talents Check Berlin. Here it’s all about bringing your talents to light.

‘Which career path would I like to take? What can I do particularly well? And what professions are there actually?’ The Talents Check Berlin deals with these questions. Students in the 8th grade start here with their professional orientation. For the joint project of the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family, the Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) and the IHK Berlin (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) we converted former offices in Berlin Charlottenburg – in the style of a talent show.

Light cone as leitmotiv

‘It’s about you, you are the centre of attention’ – for this theme idea stands the light cone of the spotlight. Spotlights and flashing lights combined with a modern colour concept of yellow, black-grey and silver run through all the rooms of the Talents Check and immerse the students in the world of experience.

Already in the hallway of the Talents Check, some highlights are waiting to be discovered by the students.

Moderators accompany the young people through the Talents Check.

Classes can relax in the break rooms. Lightcases provide storage space and also serve as seating.

The career choice test of the Federal Employment Agency was creatively integrated into the show concept.

The classes take the BA test in a quiet part of the building.

Partition walls protect the modular computer workstations so that everyone can work in a concentrated manner.

Professional Orientation

During their five-hour stay, the young people first complete the detailed career choice test of the Federal Employment Agency in the ambience of a talent show. The practical checks then await them at the heart of the Talents Check. At these stations, which were developed by us, the students interactively discover their talents and abilities. Within the framework of a moderated talent show, they compete in four fields with a total of six psychologically measurable test games in 45 minutes. In between, short film portraits of people and their career paths illustrate the connection to the professional world.

You are talented! - The TalenTier

The results of the games are recorded on a chip card and then evaluated. Since the skills discovered in the practice checks such as dexterity, memory and problem-solving thinking can also be attributed to certain animals, we designed the TalenTiere for the evaluation. At the end, there is therefore a very personal TalenTier, which is made up of the two main talents of the players.
